The "Lost Tommies" of Vignacourt - Photo 04-012 [Tempest]
The "Lost Tommies" of Vignacourt - Photo 04-012 [Tempest]
Identification: using facial recognition batch files comparing faces of officers in the June 1917 officers group photo P208-209 of "History of the 6th Battalion of West Yorkshire Regiment" (Tempest) with the Vignacourt photos, a match was identified. Lt Tempest @R3 L1 (author of the book!) was recognised (99.91%) as the same soldier in the 04-012 wedding photo.
A check of ancestry.co.uk confirms that Ewart Vincent Tempest married Marcelle Julienne Thuillier (possibly a cousin of Louis and Antoinette?) on 3 June 1918 in Vignacourt Town Hall.
After the war Ewart and Marcelle returned to Bradford England.
The double exposure photo 12-003 has also been confirmed as a wedding photo of Ewart and Marcelle …see link above.
In 1939 Ewart and Marcelle were living together at 60 Pendragon, Bradford, West Yorkshire:
